You’ll spend the first half of this trip in Istanbul, where 1,500 years of empire are layered on top of each other — Roman columns inside Ottoman mosques, Byzantine cisterns beneath modern streets. Your guide walks you through all of it, adapting to what interests you most: the monumental old city or the Bosphorus waterfront.
Then you fly south to Antalya, where the Mediterranean meets the ancient world. You’ll walk through 4,000-year-old cities where Alexander the Great once stood, sit inside a Roman theater that still hosts performances, and watch a river fall directly off a cliff into the sea. Between the ruins, there’s a walled old town, a working harbor, and a coastline that earns its reputation.
Every transfer, every flight, every entrance fee is handled. You choose the pace, the focus, and the optional extras. Your guide adjusts the plan — not the other way around.
Step off the plane and look for the nameplate — your driver handles everything from the terminal to your hotel in the Sultanahmet or Taksim district. With seven days ahead covering two coastlines, tonight is yours to ease in. Grab a waterfront table along the Golden Horn or simply let the timezone catch up with you over a glass of Turkish tea. Your guide confirms tomorrow’s schedule directly.
You pick the Istanbul that interests you most:
Option A — Sultanahmet & the Old City Walk through the Hagia Sophia, where Roman columns, Ottoman calligraphy, and Byzantine mosaics share the same space. Cross to the Blue Mosque — 20,000 handmade Iznik tiles line the interior. Continue to the Hippodrome, where chariot races once drew 100,000 spectators, then lose yourself in the Grand Bazaar’s 4,000+ shops.
Optional add-on: Topkapi Palace — where Ottoman sultans ruled for 400 years
Option B — Bosphorus & Beyond Descend into the Basilica Cistern — 336 marble columns holding up a Byzantine water reservoir. Browse the Spice Bazaar, then board a 1.5-hour Bosphorus cruise past Ottoman waterfront mansions and the Rumeli Fortress. Finish at the top of the Galata Tower for a 360-degree panorama of the city.
Optional add-on: Dolmabahce Palace — 14 tons of gold leaf and the largest Bohemian crystal chandelier in the world
Breakfast at your hotel, then a free morning to explore at your own pace — the neighborhood streets around Sultanahmet or Taksim reward a slow walk. Midday transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Antalya. Your driver greets you on arrival and takes you to your Mediterranean-side hotel. The rest of the evening is yours.
9:00 AM pickup. Today you uncover the city itself — starting with Kaleici, the walled old town where Ottoman-era wooden houses line narrow streets above a working Roman harbor. You’ll pass through Hadrian’s Gate, built in 130 AD and still standing as the entrance to the old quarter. Continue to the Clock Tower, then down to the marina where fishing boats share the water with wooden gulets.
After lunch, visit the Antalya Archaeological Museum — one of Turkey’s most important, with artifacts spanning 5,000 years of Mediterranean civilization. Then drive to Konyaalti Beach for a stretch of coastline backed by the Taurus Mountains, and finish the day at the Duden Waterfalls, where the river drops directly into the sea from the clifftop.
Return to your hotel around 17:00.
7:30 AM pickup — an early start for a full day through the ancient Mediterranean world.
First stop: Perge, a 4,000-year-old city where Alexander the Great once walked. The colonnaded streets, Roman baths, and stadium for 12,000 spectators are remarkably intact. Then on to Aspendos Theater — a 2nd-century Roman arena seating 15,000, so well preserved it still hosts concerts and performances today. The acoustics are worth testing: a coin dropped on the stage can be heard from the top row.
Continue to Side, where the Temple of Apollo stands on the waterfront — two millennia of history framed by the Mediterranean. Lunch is included at a local restaurant.
Your final stop is Kursunlu Waterfall, tucked inside a forested canyon. After a day of ancient stone, it’s a welcome shift — cool air, green canopy, and the sound of falling water.
Return to your hotel around 18:30.
Breakfast at your hotel, then a free morning to revisit the old town, walk the beach one more time, or pick up something from the local markets. Midday transfer to Antalya airport for your return flight to Istanbul.
Breakfast at your hotel. Your driver picks you up 3–4 hours before your international flight for a stress-free airport transfer. That’s it — seamless from start to finish.
This itinerary works well for:
Both Istanbul and Antalya rank among the most-visited cities in Europe and the Mediterranean, with well-developed tourism infrastructure and a visible security presence at major sites. Our local team is reachable 24/7 throughout your trip, and every transfer between your hotel, the airport, and touring sites is handled by your private driver.
Light to moderate. The Istanbul and Antalya city tours involve walking on cobblestones and some hills — comfortable shoes are enough. Day 5 (Perge, Aspendos, Side) covers more ground but at a relaxed pace with vehicle transfers between sites. We can adjust the schedule or skip sections based on your comfort level.
That’s the point. Want to add a day at the beach? Swap the city tour for a cooking class? Extend in Istanbul? Tell us what matters to you and we’ll redesign the itinerary around it.
April–June and September–November offer the best balance of weather, fewer crowds, and comfortable temperatures in both cities. July–August is peak season — hot on the Mediterranean coast and busy in Istanbul. Winter is mild in Antalya but cold in Istanbul, so shoulder seasons tend to work best for this combination.
Yes. The private format means your guide adjusts the pace, skips what doesn’t interest younger travelers, and adds time where they’re engaged. Antalya’s beaches and waterfalls are natural hits with kids, and the Aspendos Theater tends to impress every age group.
For the best hotel availability, 4–6 weeks ahead is ideal. But we’ve put together trips on shorter notice — reach out and we’ll see what’s possible.
