You’ll start in Istanbul, where your guide walks you through 1,500 years of layered history — from the Hagia Sophia‘s shifting identities to the controlled chaos of the Grand Bazaar. Then you’ll fly to Cappadocia, where the landscape looks like it belongs on another planet: fairy chimneys, underground cities carved eight levels deep, and — if you choose — a sunrise balloon flight over all of it.
Your final stop is Antalya, where the Roman Empire meets the Mediterranean. You’ll stand inside the 15,000-seat Aspendos theater (still used for concerts today) and walk through Perge, where St. Paul once preached. Between the ruins, there are waterfalls, a walled old town, and the kind of coastline that makes you rethink your return flight.
Every day includes flexibility. Two guided options in Istanbul. Two in Antalya. Your guide adapts to your pace — not the other way around.
A private driver is waiting at the airport exit with your name — you skip the taxi line entirely. After a comfortable transfer to your Sultanahmet or Taksim hotel, the rest of the day is open. Eight days across three regions starts tomorrow, so use tonight however suits you: a slow walk along the Bosphorus waterfront, a first Turkish meal at a neighborhood lokanta, or an early night. Your guide will be in touch to lock in the morning plan.
You pick the Istanbul that interests you most:
Option A — Sultanahmet & the Old City Walk through the Hagia Sophia, where Roman columns, Ottoman calligraphy, and Byzantine mosaics share the same space. Cross to the Blue Mosque — 20,000 handmade Iznik tiles line the interior. Continue to the Hippodrome, where chariot races once drew 100,000 spectators, then lose yourself in the Grand Bazaar’s 4,000+ shops.
Optional add-on: Topkapi Palace — where Ottoman sultans ruled for 400 years
Option B — Bosphorus & Beyond Descend into the Basilica Cistern — 336 marble columns holding up a Byzantine water reservoir. Browse the Spice Bazaar, then board a 1.5-hour Bosphorus cruise past Ottoman waterfront mansions and the Rumeli Fortress. Finish at the top of the Galata Tower for a 360° panorama of the city.
Optional add-on: Dolmabahce Palace — 14 tons of gold leaf and the largest Bohemian crystal chandelier in the world
Early start: 4:00 AM pickup for your domestic flight. By mid-morning, you’re in a landscape built by two volcanoes — Mount Erciyes and Mount Hasan — whose eruptions deposited the thick ash layers that wind and water later sculpted into the formations around you. Your guide takes you through:
You’ll check into a traditional cave or stone hotel — yes, you sleep inside the rock, and yes, it’s more comfortable than it sounds.
Optional: Sunrise hot air balloon flight — float over the valleys as the landscape shifts from pink to gold. We’ll arrange everything; you just show up.
Late morning pickup (10:00–10:30 AM — rest after that early balloon if you flew). Today’s route:
Breakfast at your cave hotel, then transfer to the airport for your flight to Antalya. Your driver greets you on arrival and takes you to your Mediterranean-side hotel. The rest of the day is free — the old town is walkable, and the sunset from the harbor is worth the stroll.
Again, you decide the direction:
Option A — Antalya City & Coast Explore Kaleici, the walled old town where Ottoman-era wooden houses line narrow streets. Pass through Hadrian’s Gate — built in 130 AD and still standing. Visit the Antalya Archaeological Museum (one of Turkey’s finest), then drive to the Duden Waterfalls, where a river drops directly into the Mediterranean from the clifftop.
Option B — Perge, Aspendos & Side Step into Perge — a 4,000-year-old city where Alexander the Great once walked. Then visit the Aspendos Theater, a 2nd-century Roman arena so well preserved it still hosts performances. Continue to Side for the Temple of Apollo on the waterfront, and finish at Kursunlu Waterfall, hidden in a forest canyon.
Lunch included on both options.
A morning to spend as you like — the beach, the old town, one last Turkish breakfast on a terrace. Midday transfer to Antalya airport for your return flight to Istanbul.
Breakfast at your hotel. Your driver picks you up 3–4 hours before your international flight for a stress-free airport transfer. That’s it — seamless from start to finish.
This itinerary works well for:
Istanbul, Cappadocia, and the Antalya coast are well-established tourist corridors with strong infrastructure for international visitors. You’ll travel between all three regions in private vehicles with a local driver, and your TURSAB-licensed guide handles the day-to-day navigation so you never need to figure things out on your own.
Moderate. The Red Valley hike in Cappadocia is about 4 km on uneven terrain — comfortable walking shoes are enough. The underground city involves some ducking through low passages. Istanbul and Antalya tours involve walking on cobblestones. We can adjust the pace or skip sections based on your comfort level.
Absolutely — that’s the point. Want to add a day in Istanbul? Swap Antalya for the Aegean coast? Skip a site and spend the afternoon at a local hammam instead? Tell us what matters to you and we’ll redesign the itinerary around it.
The balloon is optional but worth it. You launch before dawn and float for about an hour over the fairy chimneys and cave valleys — our pilots fly the quieter routes, away from the main balloon clusters. We book with operators who hold current Turkish Civil Aviation licenses and carry full safety certification. If weather grounds your flight, we rebook the next morning or refund in full.
For the best hotel availability and balloon slots, 4–6 weeks ahead is ideal. But we’ve put together trips on shorter notice — reach out and we’ll see what’s possible.
April–June and September–November offer the best balance of weather, fewer crowds, and comfortable temperatures across all three regions. July–August is peak season (hot in Cappadocia, busy in Istanbul). Winter has its own charm — especially Cappadocia under snow — but some outdoor activities are limited.
